I am running for the Monterey County Board of Education because I care about improving educational quality for our children.  I believe my experience -- as a school district financial advisor, a Trustee Educator for the California School Boards Association, and a 27-year Board Member of the Carmel Unified School District -- can be a benefit to our community.

In 2021, I was honored to be appointed to fill this vacant seat on the Monterey County Board of Education by a 6-0 vote, and I ask for your support to continue to serve in this capacity.

I have been a school district financial advisor since 1996.  In that capacity, I help districts generate funding to build new schools, refurbish existing ones, and purchase technology to improve student outcomes.

In addition, for the past 18 years I have been a faculty member in the California School Boards Association’s Masters in Governance Program – a statewide program that teaches Trustees and Superintendents how to more effectively govern their school districts.

And lastly, I served on the Carmel Unified School District Board of Education from 1993 to 2020.  During that time, Carmel USD became and has remained one of the highest-performing districts in California.

I was able to help Carmel USD, and would like to continue to help at the county level.  I’d appreciate your support.
